What exactly are “Russian Lips”?
Like a Russian doll, this technique can turn the lips into a subtle heart form with more volume near the middle. It helps raise the Lip rather than create undue thickness, making it suitable for anyone new to lip fillers or looking for a natural finish. You may often see a ‘flatter’ look since height, rather than plumpness, is the target. (However, if that is what you want, you may have both!). Since the procedure necessitates an artist’s touch, it’s far more important to locate a reliable injector.
What distinguishes the Russian Lip technique?
In contrast to conventional lip filler, an injector using the Russian Lip method injects the hyaluronic acid fillers vertically. At Albany Cosmetic and Laser Center, we use only premium fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane. Beginning at the Lip base and working outward along the lip line. Rather than operating inward from the lip line, the injector works the fillers from the inside out.
What is the price of the Russian Lip?
Russian lips cost $100 as conventional lip filler since it is more time-consuming. We improved the original technique using a 27G TSK cannula before implementing the fillers microdroplet with a sharp needle injection.
How long would it take to do the Russian Lip technique?
The Russian Lip technique takes about 30-45 minutes to complete, including prep time.
How long would it take for Russian Lips to fade?
At Albany Cosmetic and laser center, we mainly use the Juvederm Filler Family. Your Hyaluronic Acid lip filler usually lasts 6-12 months, with touch-ups needed every 3-9 months, depending on the client’s metabolism.
What is the adverse effect of this technique?
Clients who opt to do the Russian lip injection should expect a higher risk of bruising and swelling than the traditional technique due to multiple injection sites.
How to perform the procedure?
This video shows Dr. Kamal Alhallak (Ph.D. in Pharmacy) performing the Russian Lip fillers. As the video shows, he starts with a blunt cannula to prepare the tissue to receive the filler vertically, then proceeds with the 30G sharp needle for the HA filler (Juvederm or Restylane) injection upper-lower lip.
These pictures were taken directly before and after the lip fillers procedure.
