Nasolabial Folds

Nasolabial folds Correction in Edmonton

These deep lines on each side of the face that extends from the lower nose to the mouth are referred to as Nasolabial Folds and may be professionally treated with premium filler to reduce the wrinkles and creases around the mouth and rejuvenate the face. Nasolabial Folds treatment will improve your overall appearance by making you seem happier, less weary, and younger.

What is the difference between Nasolabial folds and smile lines?

There is actually no difference between them, as both names refer to the same cosmetic concern in the mi-face area. However, the smile lines might also include the marionette lines, on the top of the nasolabial folds

Different Nasolabial fold treatments

Albany Cosmetic and Laser Center in Edmonton’s experienced team can assist you in determining the reason for your deepening nasolabial folds and determining the best treatment option for you.

“Collaborating with a really compassionate cosmetic health preprofessional to begin with a less-invasive treatment and gradually progress to something more important or more invasive is an excellent option,” Dr. Alhallak said. “While the ultimate outcome may need a face lift, there are many other options to consider before having full-on surgery.”

Fillers are often used as the first line of defense against nasolabial folds. We inject fillers into the cheek skin. This increases the area’s volume and raises the skin. The kind and amount of filler used are determined by the degree of the fold. The most often used fillers are hyaluronic acid, a natural component of skin, and calcium hydroxylapatite, a mineral found in bones. Both have been demonstrated to assist in stimulating collagen development in addition to plumping the skin.

Dermal Fillers are simple to inject in the clinic and require little to no downtime. Although some patients have minor bruising, makeup may be applied soon after treatment.

However, fillers are a temporary fix. They endure between six and two years, with the majority lasting between six and nine months. The duration of a filler is determined by the kind of filler and the rate at which it degrades in your body.

Thread Facelift

We use PDO threads to lift the mid-face and retract the dislocated fat pads that sagged due to gravity. The procedure is more invasive than fillers, but it produces excellent results that last for two years.

Nasolabial Folds correction results

Most off our patients notice a difference right after the nasolabial correction procedure. This is particularly correct for fillers and threads. However, energy-based treatment such as Fotona laser and Ulthera may take 6 to 8 weeks and several treatment to show full results.

The majority of nasolabial folds are asymmetrical, to begin with; depending on the treatment objectives, we may seek to correct this concern to enhance symmetry. Asymmetry may arise in the early stages of treatment if one side is more swollen or damaged. Usually, it will have corrected itself by the time of the review appointment. Dr. Kamal will schedule you for a follow-up appointment and compare the before and after pictures. It is pointless to come in early for asymmetry therapy since edema is often related, and the full outcome cannot be noticed for at least four weeks. Treating asymmetry prematurely may result in increased and worse asymmetry.

Nasolabial Fold Fillers FAQ

We start by removing makeup and applying the lidocaine cream. Then we use the cold ear to help numb the area. Dr. Alhallak will make a small poke with a tiny needle, then slide the cannula alongside the nasolabial fold and inject the filler media into the line
Like all other dermal filler injections, bruising and swelling are the most common side effects and happen 24 to 48 hours after the nasolabial fold fillers procedure. Other side effects include lumps and Asymmetry: Occasionally, one side of the patient gets treated better than the other; this is typically due to the patient being asymmetrical. Nasolabial folds are infamous for their asymmetry. We fix this issue by tailoring the fillers amount for each side of the nasolabial folds.
The answer to this question is very subjective and is dependent on the patient’s age, metabolism, amount of fillers, location, and product. The Juvederm Voluma that we use for the nasolabial folds fillers last for 12 to 18 months
We offer different fillers for the nasolabial folds such as Bellafill, Radiesse and Juverderm. Most premium dermal fillers contained Hyaluronic Acid, a sugar that the body produces naturally. It is responsible for hydrating the skin by attaching to water molecules. Skin and connective tissue contain hyaluronic acid. As we age, our skin regenerates slower, and we lose significant amounts of hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin. This leads to skin that appears older, drier, and thinner and the formation of additional creases and folds with time. The filler may repair facial structure, remove fine lines or deep wrinkles, restore facial volume for a lifted appearance, and contour and redefine the lips when professionally injected. The skill and expertise of your injector will affect the outcome.
Yes, we offer all type of fillers for nasolabial folds such as the Bellafill collagen fillers that may last between 5 to 10 years

Complete guide for Nasolabial folds corrections

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are commonly used to correct volume loss in the face and can be particularly effective for treating nasolabial folds. Also known as laugh lines or smile lines, nasolabial folds are the wrinkles that run from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Over time, collagen and elastin production decreases, leading to a loss of structure and volume in the skin. This can cause the skin to sag and create deeper folds. Dermal fillers are injected into the skin to restore volume and smooth out wrinkles. The results are immediate and can last for several months. If you are considering dermal fillers for nasolabial folds, it is important to consult with a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon who has experience performing this type of procedure.

PDO Threads

The nasolabial folds, also known as laugh lines or smile lines, are the wrinkles that run from the corners of your mouth to the base of your nose. Though they are a natural part of aging, many people feel self-conscious about these visible signs of aging. PDO threads are a type of facial rejuvenation treatment that can help to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. The threads are made from a safe, biocompatible material that is absorbable by the body. Once in place, the threads help to support and lift the skin around the nasolabial folds, resulting in a more youthful appearance. PDO threads are a minimally invasive treatment with minimal downtime, and they provide long-lasting results. If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nasolabial folds, PDO threads may be an ideal treatment option for you.

Fotona Laser

The fotona laser is a type of laser that can be used to treat various conditions, including Nasolabial folds. This laser uses high-intensity light to target and enhances the tissue in the affected area. The fotona laser is a very effective treatment for Nasolabial folds and can produce significant results in a short period of time. There are very few side effects associated with this laser, and it is considered to be a safe and effective treatment option for this condition. If you are interested in learning more about the fotona laser, please contact our office to schedule a consultation.

Ultherapy is a FDA-cleared, non-invasive ultrasound treatment that counteracts the effects of time and gravity on your skin. Ultherapy uses the body’s own regenerative response to lift, tone, and tighten the skin on the face, neck, and décolletage. It is commonly used to treat the nasolabial folds (“smile lines” or “parentheses”), which are the parentheses-shaped wrinkles that run from the bottom of each side of the nose to the corner of the mouth. Ultherapy can also be used to improve the appearance of jowls and sagging skin on the neck. A single Ultherapy treatment takes 60-90 minutes, and you will see a noticeable improvement in the Nasolabial folds within 2-3 months. The results of Ultherapy can last for up to 2 years.

PDO Thread Lift for Nasolabial Folds

By combining 360-degree ‘cog’ threads implanted under the skin in non-invasive techniques, we may successfully correct the nasolabial fold line and renew and tighten the skin.
The Thread Lift is a revolutionary new form of facelift. It does the same thing by making the face skin seem younger and more appealing. However, it does not come with the drawbacks associated with a typical facelift.

During a Thread Lift, Dr. Alhallak introduces tiny sutures under the layer of skin using a delicate needle. Raising the loose skin will help eliminate the nasolabial folds. This procedure is less invasive and quicker than a traditional facelift. Additionally, it is non-invasive, which is a significant benefit in cosmetic treatments.

A Nasolabial folds thread Lift carries relatively minimal risk. It provides ease in addition to superior outcomes. Sutures implanted under the skin are biodegradable, eliminating the need for follow-up treatments. Sutures gradually dissolve on their own. If you ever want to reverse the effects of the sutures, all you have to do is wait for this to occur. We can combine the thread lift with fillers for the best nasolabial folds correction results.

Fotona Intraoral for Nasolabial Folds

The Fotona intraoral treatment is a ground-breaking bulk-heating laser therapy that works from the inside out to tighten and firm the lower face! The moderate, regulated laser causes collagen contraction instantly by decreasing collagen fibers while simultaneously fostering new collagen formation. The Fotona intraoral therapy improves the nasolabial tissue’s tightness and elasticity, which results in a plumping impact on the nasolabial folds.

A laser pulse (dubbed Smooth mode) is focused towards the mucosa membrane within the mouth at very low rates to target the inner cheek tissues. This kind of bulk heating induces a wound healing response in the targeted locations, which results in collagen remodeling.

Ulthera for Nasolabial Folds

Ultherapy, a fancy term for Ultrasound therapy, is the first Health- Canada-approved non-surgical facelift. It bypasses the skin’s surface layer, delivering precisely focused ultrasonic energy to the desired location and temperature. A complete face treatment takes around two hours, with effects lasting approximately one year after a single treatment. Tenderness and mild bruising are common side effects that heal rapidly.

  • The two primary disadvantages of Ulthera treatment for Nasolabial folds: first, it takes three to six months before you see the full impact of correcting the nasolabial folds
  • The treatment’s discomfort level is high, which we manage with oral pain medication and on-demand inhaled Nitrous oxide. It costs between $1500 and $2500 on average for each session.
