Facelift with PDO threads in Edmonton
What would you do in Edmonton if you have a lot of volumes but need to reshape your face? We’ll need a mix of threads and filler because while adding more volume will help, it won’t be the ideal solution.
This lovely client came to us for assistance with a few issues.
1- Lines of marionettes
3-The dark shadow under the eyes
As you can see, her face is not devoid of volume; however, as we age, our faces begin to take on an inverted V shape as a result of gravity.
Injecting fillers in the upper face will not help because we will be adding volume to the upper face without correcting the problem in the lower face.
When the face shape changes and the required facelift is associated with volume loss, HA fillers are a fantastic option. This client’s face is already full, so adding more volume is a bad idea. We require a method of lifting the face without adding volume.
The BARB type has claws that hold on to the tissue layers to defy gravity, while the PDO threads are biocompatible and biodegradable. The threads are loaded into a blunt cannula that is inserted into the skin’s subdermal plane. We use a sharp needle to gain access to the skin, then insert the tip of the cannula into the skin and place the thread. The zygoma area is where the thread for a facelift in Edmonton starts. We begin by injecting lidocaine into the area, then making a tiny hole for the thread entry with a 21g needle. The total number of threads varies by client, but on average, there are 4-8 threads in total (2-4 on each side)
The results are amazing, as you can see on the slide; you will notice an immediate improvement, but the final results will take about 2-3 weeks to appear.
The shadow at the marionette lines and nasolabial folds has vanished, the face has been lifted into a V shape, and the shadow under the eye has decreased significantly.
Dr. Kamal Alhallak (Ph.D. in Pharmacy), a cosmetic consultant pharmacist with a Ph.D. and special training in cosmetic injections such as fillers and Botox, performed the procedure. He runs Albany Cosmetic and Laser Center as the medical director.
