Under-Eye Bags Correction Results: Case Study 1059

The area under the eyes is a common cosmetic concern. Issues in this area are often associated with looking tired. If you have dark circles or heavy under-eye bags, you’ve undoubtedly tried every brightening and correction cream out there but have not found the fix; this non-surgical treatment will help you tremendously. Tear troughs can be treated with dermal fillers and help to disguise under-eye bags and smooth the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek, lasting six months to a year.

What are tear troughs?

Tear troughs are the hollows between the lower eyelid and the cheeks. In many cases, tear troughs are genetic rather than a result of aging and often appear even in teenage years. We can correct tear troughs by injecting dermal filler directly in the groove between the lower eyelid and cheek.

This lifts the tear trough to the lower eyelid and cheek level, smoothing the area’s appearance. Normally, the type of filler used is hyaluronic acid, such as Restylane, Belotero, and Juvederm. In this case, Juvederm Volbella filler was the thinnest filler on the market.

Hyaluronic acid is a compound that your body makes naturally, so it’s unlikely to cause bad reactions, but it degrades over time, meaning that your fillers are temporary.

Case study 1059

A female in her late 50’s came in with concerns regarding her tear troughs (under-eyes). She had heavy under-eye bags and black shadows surrounding this area.

After carefully reviewing her options and keeping her medical history in mind, we decided to proceed with Juvederm Volbella fillers by using a blunt cannula to allow the needle to pass through, requiring only one poke. This specific procedure needs 15 minutes, including the numbing cream application process. View more cases here.

The under-eye bags correction procedure

We used a blunt cannula to allow the needle to go through smoothly. You may feel a slight poke, almost like a pinch, during the injection of the fillers. To minimize bruising and swelling, we use the chiller after the procedure.

Cost

The cost of this procedure varies depending on how much filler we need. In this case, we used one syringe of filler; therefore, the price was $650.00 plus tax.

Side effects

The main side effects of under-eye bag treatment with dermal fillers are bruising and swelling, which lasts up to 4-5 days but varies with each person, depending on their skin type.

Results

We Inserted the before and after pictures that we took one month apart. You can see an immediate change in the under-eye area right after the procedure but even a bigger change as time passes.
