Under eye wrinkles in Edmonton
Starting in the late twenties, most of the women get concerned about the under eyes wrinkles. The skin around the eye is thin and delicate. Therefore it ages faster than other facial areas. Most people rely on creams or oils to get a tighter, wrinkle-free skin under the eyes. Even though these topical preparations are expensive; however, their results are disappointing.
What is the difference between eye bags, darkness, and wrinkles
Having Eye wrinkles in early ages is considered a risk factor for eye bags. However, we see lots of clients complaining about eye wrinkles without having eye circles or bags. As a matter of fact, it is harder to treat eye wrinkle by itself without the eye bag. Moreover, we see some clients who have wrinkles and pigmentation around the eye. Therefore, Dr. Kamal (Pharmacist with Ph.D.) usually differentiate between three different types of under-eye fine wrinkles
- Fine wrinkles alone
- Wrinkles with pigmentation
- Fine wrinkles with eye bags
- Wrinkle with eye bags and dark circles

Another synonym for the under-eye fillers is tear trough fillers. We usually recommend under-eye fillers when the client shows signs of losing volume in the orbital cavity. You can read more about this type of filler here
We use Botox in some cases when the wrinkle is alone in young clients with dynamic lines, which appear with smiling. Usually, these lines are part of the crow feet and Botox will be good enough to correct them.
We are the only laser center in Edmonton who offer laser for the ocular area. We use special intra-ocular shields to provide safety for the eye cornea and retina. We recommend using Fraxel laser with all other treatment. Moreover, Fraxel treatment helps with the droopy upper eye-lid and suggy skin under the eye.
How does Fraxel laser works
Fraxel is a color-blind, microscopic, fractional laser, so it uses water as a chromophore. It means that we can use it on all skin type. Fraxel is a microscopic laser that goes into your skin to stimulate the growth of elastin and collagen. In essence, it fades brown spots, smooths eye wrinkles, and scars that arise as a result of photo-aging. Contrary to fully ablative lasers, Fraxel is a fractional skin resurfacing procedure, which targets a section of the skin simultaneously. Also, the Fraxel laser treatment works by rejuvenating the skin from inside.
Is laser safe for the eye?
While administering the Fraxel laser treatment on patients, intra-ocular corneal eye shields are used to protect the eyes from laser rays.
Intra-ocular corneal eye shields are eye-shaped shields made of surgical grade stainless steel. They come in different sizes and are used to protect the patient's eyes during laser treatments around the eye region.
Is Fraxel laser safe after fillers?
We recommend to space fillers injection and Fraxel laser treatment by at least three months. Therefore, we advise our client to do Fraxel laser first, followed by Fillers or Botox injections.
