Sculptra Fillers Results

The FDA approved Sculptra PLLA dermal fillers in 2004 to treat lipoatrophy, which causes facial fat loss, resulting in sunken cheeks, deep folds, and indentations. Ten years later, they approved treating wrinkles and creases on the face with it for a more youthful appearance. Poly-L-lactic acid is the major component in Sculptra (PLLA). It’s a collagen stimulator that may last up to two years and gives you long-lasting, natural-looking effects. Sculptra is a safe and effective treatment. However, patients with allergies to any of its components or those with certain medical disorders should not have this treatment.

Nasolabial folds correction results

Sculptra is a wrinkle-reducing injection that we inject into the skin. It includes PLLA, a collagen activator that helps restore fullness to face creases and folds over time. As a consequence, the skin gradually gets softer and appears more youthful. You may experience instant changes, but the full effects of your treatment may take a few months. Albany Cosmetic and Laser Center has Sculptra professionals who will work with you to determine how many sessions you need to achieve the best results. Normally, patients need three injections over three or four months to see good Sculptra results.

After the consultation, Dr. Alhallak recommended Radiesse for nasolabial fold correction. The patient had received Juvederm for over five years and was looking for a long-term solution to avoid a yearly trip to the Edmonton center.

When do we use Sculptra?

Sculptra is a special filler that we inject to replace lost facial volume due to age or sickness. It includes Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible synthetic chemical that increases collagen formation.

We use it to treat deep wrinkles, creases, and folds to provide a more youthful appearance. It’s also used to treat lipoatrophy (facial fat loss) in HIV patients.

Safety of Sculptra

The first indication for Sculptra was to treat lipoatrophy in HIV patients. In 2009, the FDA authorized it to treat deep facial creases and folds in patients with healthy immune systems under the brand name Sculptra Aesthetic. Swelling, redness, discomfort, and bruising may occur at the injection site. In addition, discoloration and lumps have been observed under the skin.

A skilled provider operates the office. Sculptra treatments do not require any prior testing or preparation. After treatment, you can resume your routine activities right away.
