Adorned by celebrities this treatment is a favorite in sculpting the perfect behind with Sculptra and FDA and Health Canada approved filler. Sculptra can also be used to treat hollows in the face, like cheeks or the temples.
How does sculptra work?
This product is unlike other dermal fillers, which are made of hyaluronic acid. When injected these fillers provide an immediate result. Sculptra on the other hand is made of poly-L-lactic acid, when injected it triggers an immune response stimulating the body to boost into collagen production mode. As we age, we naturally experience a loss of collagen, and as it is the main structural component of the skin there is no better way to restore that plump than with your own collagen. Sculptra literally makes your body do all the work, by being the driving factor of collagen production, this product makes your body do the work, producing the results you are looking for naturally and with your own collagen.
A female in her mid 30’s came in looking to have more volume and fill dips in her buttock. She had hip dips that were visible and butt dimples that were her main concern. After carefully reviewing her options and keeping her medical history in mind, we decided to proceed with the sculptra by using a 19G blunt cannula allowing the needle to pass through, therefore only requiring one poke. This specific procedure took about an hour and thirty minutes and that included the numbing cream application process.
We used 6 vials of sculptra and a blunt cannula to allow the needle to go through smoothly. You may feel a light poke almost like a pinch during the injection of the sculptra. No need to use the chiller for this procedure.
The cost of this procedure varies depending on how much sculptra is used. In this case 6 vials of sculptra were used therefore the price was $4,200.00 plus tax.
The main side effects to be expected are bruising and swelling which lasts up to 4-5 days but varies with each person depending on their skin type.
Inserted below are before and after pictures that were taken two months apart. You can see an immediate change right after the procedure and they only get better over the next few months.
