Lip Fillers Results Using Juvederm

These are before and after pictures for a lip filler case using 1.5 ml of Juvederm lip fillers.

Restylane vs. Juvederm for Lips

Restylane and Juvederm lip injections are both noninvasive (nonsurgical) treatments. Both are hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers used to perk up the skin. Additionally, they include lidocaine, which helps decrease discomfort during the injection. Each brand offers unique lip formulae authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Lip fillers with Restylane

Restylane Silk is the formulation that we frequently use for lips. According to their official website, Restylane Silk was the first lip filler authorized by the FDA. It claims “lips that are slicker, smoother, and more natural-looking.” We also use Restylane Silk to enhance the lips or smooth lip lines.

Lip fillers with Juvederm

Juvederm is available in two formulations for the lips: Juvederm Ultra and Volift; Juvederm Ultra XC is an older dermal filler formula used to enhance the lips, absorbing more water than the volift. The Volift is smoother and more subtle.

Procedure side effect

Bruising and swelling are frequent side effects of filler injections and may last two days. The duration of these effects varies according to the location of the injections. If you treat lip lines, you may anticipate these adverse effects will subside within seven days. Side effects from lip plumping might persist for up to 14 days.

How long does lip injection take for each brand?

Restylane and Juvederm injection treatments are both quick and painless. You’ll almost certainly require follow-up procedures to maintain the volumizing impact on your lips in the future.

Restylane duration of action

Restylane injections are predicted to take between 15 and 30 minutes per whole treatment. Due to the lip area’s diminutive size compared to other injection sites, the duration is likely shorter than under-eye fillers.

Juvederm duration of action

Juvederm lip injections often take the same length of time as Restylane. However, unlike Restylane, Juvederm lip effects are immediate.

Comparing outcomes

Restylane and Juvederm are supposed to give smooth results due to hyaluronic acid’s plumping action. However, Juvederm has a somewhat longer overall duration and produces effects more quickly.

Restylane outcomes

After Restylane Silk injections, you should see effects within a few days. After ten months, these fillers are supposed to begin to fade off.

Juvederm outcomes

Juvederm Ultra XC begins to work almost immediately on your lips. The effects are reported to last almost a year.

Who would make an excellent candidate?

While the FDA has approved Restylane and Juvederm fillers, this does not mean they are ideal for everyone. Between the two therapies, individual risk factors differ. Generally, pregnant women should avoid dermal fillers due to unknown safety risks. We can provide further information regarding your unique risk factors during your visit.

Candidates for Restylane

Restylane is only available to people over the age of 21. If you have a history of any of the following, this lip therapy may not be suited for you: hyaluronic acid or lidocaine allergies, inflammatory skin problems such as psoriasis, eczema, or rosacea bleeding disorders

Candidates fo Juvederm

Additionally, the approval for Juvederm is for people above the age of 21. Your provider may not prescribe lip injections if you have an allergy or sensitivity to lidocaine or hyaluronic acid.

Cost comparisons

Restylane or Juvederm lip treatments are cosmetic operations, and health plans do not cover them. Nonetheless, these alternatives are less costly than surgery. Additionally, they do not require any downtime.

Restylane Cost

Restylane injections cost between $300 and $650. This is entirely dependent on the treatment area. Restylane Silk costs $550 per 1-millilitre injection At Albany Cosmetic and Laser Centre in Edmonton.

Juvederm cost

On average, Juvederm lip treatments cost somewhat more than Restylane. Juvederm is about $650 per 1-millilitre injection At Albany Cosmetic and Laser Centre in Edmonton. Remember that Juvederm’s effects often remain longer than those of Restylane. You may get lip treatments less frequently, lowering your overall cost.

How to minimize the side effects

While Restylane and Juvederm are both minimally invasive, this does not mean they are risk-free. There is a possibility of adverse consequences, particularly small ones. Additionally, it is important to use the correct formula for your lips to minimize irritation and scarring. Bear in mind that Juvederm Ultra XC and Volbella XC are lip formulations. Restylane Silk is a Restylane formulation that we inject into the lips.

Adverse reactions

Among the probable minimal adverse effects of Restylane Silk are the following:

redness \swelling \stenderness \sbruising
Adverse effects of Juvederm

As with Restylane, Juvederm may cause edema and redness. Additionally, some individuals report discomfort and numbness. Volbella XC formulations can occasionally produce dry skin.

Keeping side effects at bay

To prevent adverse effects with either treatment, avoid intense activity, drinking, and exposure to the sun or tanning beds for two days after the lip filler procedure. Restylane’s maker suggests that patients avoid excessive cold temperatures following treatment until any redness or swelling has resolved. On the other hand, the manufacturer of Juvederm advises against excessive heat. Minor adverse effects from lip treatments subside in one to two weeks, although this might vary depending on the location of the injections. If you treat lip lines, you may anticipate these adverse effects will subside within seven days. Side effects from lip plumping might persist for up to 14 days.
