Dermal fillers

Treatments Using Injectable Fillers

Dermal fillers, also known as soft-tissue fillers, are common in Edmonton cosmetic practice. In 2018, an estimated 2.8 million of these operations were carried out worldwide. The boom is because dermal fillers are low-risk, high-reward procedures for treating wrinkles and boosting the skin’s volume, particularly on the face.

Dermal Fillers: What Are They?

Dermal fillers are medical devices approved by Health Canada to be injected on the dermal level to augment the appearance of a defect. Injectable fillers are another name for these devices. Dermal fillers of various kinds are used in Edmonton to tighten and smooth the face skin. Aesthetic fillers are most utilized in the nasolabial creases of the face, lips, cheekbones. Other areas are under the eye, tear trough, and nose bridge. They may also be used on other wrinkled areas, including hands and feet.

Dermal fillers are becoming increasingly popular because various research shows it’s a tried-and-true approach for reducing wrinkles and creases and restoring a more youthful look as you get older.

When this patient and I initially started discussing how to address her facial concerns, I was excited about the possibilities. Like many of the patients I treat, she wishes to have more defined features.

Dermal filler procedure

That operation yielded fantastic results, and we were quite pleased with it. In little time at all, we were contemplating the possibility of giving her cheekbones a little extra definition. We used Juvederm Voluma, a popular dermal filler in our practice, to get the desired results. What’s more? It was stunning.

Later, we merely went through with the rest of her face augmentation. We used Juvederm Ultra to add volume to her chin and nose, making her case a full-on facial filler treatment regimen. This procedure is usually done along with Botox injections.
