Fraxel Scarring

Imagine you could take all your skin concerns away like hyperpigmentation, acne scars, dullness, fine lines and peel them all away to reveal a new layer of glowy, healthy skin. That's essentially what Fraxel lasers do. Most patients come in seeking Fraxel laser treatments for three reasons, hyperpigmentation or sun damage, wrinkles, and acne scarring. People most commonly have lasers applied to their whole faces, but the neck, décolletage, hands, and arms are also areas to treat.

What is Fraxel laser?

Fraxel laser Treatment is a line of non-surgical lasers for facial rejuvenation, a concept of dermatological treatment that takes advantage of the skin's regenerative process by treating it in a fractional manner.

Case 1061

A female in her late 20’s came in with concerns regarding a scar on her cheek on the right side of her face and underlying pigmentation issues. After carefully reviewing her options and keeping her medical history in mind, we decided to proceed with using the fraxel laser that would give the best results. We recommended 3-4 sessions one month apart. This specific procedure is about an hour long but requires a minimum of 2 hours with numbing.

The procedure

We used alcohol to clean the skins surface to make sure there’s no residue of the numbing cream left over. We began to use the fraxel dual laser with the 1550 with 4 passes of each section at 15/5 then switched over to the 1972 with 4 passes at 15/5. We also use a cooling air machine to help with the discomfort during the treatment and apply the Zo epidermal repair cream right after the treatment. The Patient received Hexam cleanser, Lexxel cream and Sheer SPF from Vivier as well as an ice pack to help with the heat for the next 2-3 hours post treatment. These products are extremely important during the 72-hour time period after the treatment as the initial healing has a large effect on the results.

Each session is $900.00 but at our center we offer a package of 3 sessions with a 20% discount.

Side effects

The main side effects to be expected are swelling, redness, dryness, flakiness or even a sandpaper texture which lasts up to 5-7 days but varies with each person depending on their skin type.

Inserted below are before and after pictures that were taken one-week post one treatment. You can see results in just a week or even better results after the second session.
