Case Study: Crown Hair Thinning Treated With PRP + Scalp Mesotherapy
This case highlights visible improvement in crown coverage and density appearance using a combined protocol of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and scalp mesotherapy micro-injections. Individual outcomes vary.
Patient Concern
Progressive thinning at the crown/vertex with increased scalp “show-through,” creating a noticeable reduction in hair density.
Clinical Assessment
Pattern thinning focused at the crown with a non-scarring appearance. This presentation may respond well to regenerative approaches when follicles are still present (thinning/miniaturization rather than complete loss).
Treatment Plan
- PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma): Prepared from the patient’s own blood and injected into the scalp to support the follicle environment.
- Scalp Mesotherapy: Superficial micro-injections using a customized hair-supportive solution as an adjunct to PRP.
What We Targeted
- Crown density and overall coverage
- Hair caliber (thicker-looking strands)
- Reduced visible scalp at the vertex
Outcome (From Provided Photos)
The follow-up images show a noticeable reduction in scalp visibility at the crown and an improvement in overall coverage/density appearance. Lighting, hair length, and styling can influence how density appears in photographs.
Aftercare
- Avoid washing the scalp for 24 hours (or as advised).
- Avoid strenuous exercise, heat exposure (sauna/hot yoga), and alcohol for 24 hours.
- Mild tenderness or swelling can occur temporarily; contact the clinic if symptoms persist or worsen.
Important: PRP and mesotherapy are not guaranteed cures for hair loss. They are used to support hair quality and density in appropriate candidates. Results vary.
