Fraxel Dual Laser or Fractional Resurfacing Laser is a combination of two lasers including the 1927mm wavelength which is used for superficial treatment pigmentation and the 1550 wavelength for the treatment of skin texture. Combined or used together, the components of the Fraxel Dual Laser provide great results for wrinkle removal, skin tightening and other dermatological issues.
How Does Fraxel work?
Fraxel laser treatment works by creating microscopic laser columns in sun-damaged and aging skins that deeply penetrate the skin to stimulate the production of collagen and healthy skin cells. The Fraxel treatment creates 1000-2000 microthermal zones per centimeter square, leaving more tissue untouched for enhanced healing. Fraxel treatment helps build new skin by lightly damaging some areas of the skin while leaving some parts intact to promote the growth of healthy skin cells and collagen.
What Can Fraxel Dual Laser Treat
Fraxel treatment is ideal for various types of skin conditions including:
- Fine wrinkles, sun damage, aging on the face, neck, chest, back, hands, arms, and legs.
- To treat specific acne scars and surgical scars and melasma.
- To reduce precancerous lesions on the skin.
- To improve skin tone and texture and treat fine lines and crepiness on the eyelids and around the eyes.
Do Fraxel Treatment Work for Skin Tightening?
Fraxel treatments can provide skin tightening, but the results are not as excellent as that of pigmentation treatment. This is because Fraxel treatment works by damaging the skin lightly while leaving some areas untouched for faster healing. Whereas, skin tightening requires the stimulation of collagen production. Collagen is responsible for the firmness of the skin, and the skin tightens as the production of collagen increases.
Fraxel in combination with treatments designed specifically for skin tightening provides better results.
