Hair Loss Treatment

Overview of Hair loss Treatment

Hair loss can have many causes, ranging from Family history and hormonal changes to medical conditions and medications. Moreover, one of the most common causes of hair loss is stress. When we experience physical or emotional stress, our bodies go into “fight or flight” mode, releasing hormones like cortisol that can cause our hair to fall out. Fortunately, hair loss from stress is usually temporary and will resolve itself once the stressor is removed. Other common causes of hair loss include Family history, hormonal changes (such as during menopause or thyroid problems), and certain medications (such as chemotherapy drugs).

Several treatments can help to slow down or stop the progression of hair loss. One popular option is PRP scalp injection, which uses platelet-rich plasma to stimulate new hair growth. Another popular treatment is the Fotona laser hair loss treatment, which uses a special mode of Er:YAG lasers to help improve circulation and promote hair growth. Vitamin meso scalp injections are also sometimes used to treat hair loss, as vitamins B12, B6 and B5 are essential for healthy hair growth. Other treatment includes prescription medications such as finasteride and minoxidil, which your family doctor may prescribe.

Hair Loss Assessment

We always ask our clients to see their family doctor perform some lab tests and review their medications to investigate the root of the problem. It is important to do so before visiting or consulting us for hair loss treatment.

Types of hair loss

Androgenetic alopecia

This is the most common type of hair loss affecting men and women. Therefore, there are male and female patterns of Androgenetic alopecia. A combination of genetic and hormonal factors causes androgenetic alopecia.

Male Pattern Hair Loss

In men, the androgenic hair loss pattern is characterized by a receding hairline and gradual thinning of the hair on the top of the head. This hair loss starts after puberty and often leads to complete baldness.

Female Pattern Hair Loss

In women, androgenic hair loss typically results in thinning hair all over the head without affecting the hair lines. Most cases are gradual and do not result in complete baldness.

Alopecia effluvin and areata

Another common type of hair loss is telogen effluvium which can be caused by physical or emotional stress, pregnancy, childbirth, severe weight loss, or certain medications. Telogen effluvium usually resolves on its own within a few months. Alopecia areata is characterized by patches of baldness that can occur anywhere on the body. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the hair follicles.

Fotona Hair Loss Treatment

The Fotona Laser is a cutting-edge device that offers a variety of minimally invasive treatment options with no downtime. This dynamic technology uses laser light to safely, predictably, and naturally restore hair. The laser gently heats the hair follicle to restore the natural circulation necessary for growth. This innovative technology effectively reaches the deepest layers of the scalp and hair follicles to promote the natural healing process by combining Nd: YAG and Er: YAG wavelengths. The laser hair treatment restores hair growth, producing natural-looking yet obvious results.

Treatment results

PRP therapy uses the patient’s blood to create a concentrated solution of platelets, which are then injected into the scalp. The platelets release growth factors that stimulate stem cells and promote healing. Most of the published literature shows that most patients who received PRP therapy showed an increase in hair growth after just three months. PRP therapy is tolerable and has few side effects, making it an appealing option for those seeking to regrow their hair. Additionally, PRP therapy is much less expensive than hair transplants.

The fotona laser is an effective treatment for hair loss. In a recent study, subjects who received fotona laser treatments showed a significant increase in hair growth after just eight weeks. The fotona laser works by stimulating the hair follicles, which increases the production of Keratin – a key protein for healthy hair growth. The fotona laser is a safe and non-invasive option for those seeking to improve their hair health.

It is important to note that results may vary from person to person, and multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve desired results. However, the fotona laser provides a promising solution for those struggling with hair loss.

And while it can be somewhat pricey, many patients report seeing significant results after just a few sessions. If you’re looking for an effective hair loss treatment, PRP therapy is definitely worth considering.

As a result, the recommend repeating the treatment once or twice a year. Thus, there are several treatments and procedures available. Microneedling is a cost-effective treatment that can give long-lasting results when done periodically. PRP also helps hair to grow faster.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is PRP?

This is a treatment where a vial of your blood is taken and then spun at a high speed (in a centrifuge) to separate your blood into two layers: plasma and red blood cells. The plasma layer has a high concentration of platelets which contain numerous growth factors. These growth factors are injected into the scalp to induce new hair growth, thicken hair, and increase the rate of growth of your hair.

Who is a good candidate for PRP sculp injection?

The use of Platelet-rich plasma is not recommended for clients with autoimmune conditions such as Crohn’s disease. The immune system attacks the hair follicles through antibodies present in the PRP preparation.

Hair Loss Treatment Side Effect

This is caused by the needles used in the injection process. Another common side effect is swelling. This is also caused by the needles and can last for up to three hours after the injection. The last thing you should know about scalp injections is that you cannot shower for at least three hours after the procedure. This gives the nutrients time to be absorbed by your scalp.

Why PRP is Beneficial for hair

Platelets are rich with special growth factors as an epidermal factor, and vascular endothelial growth factor. These growth factors are released from the platelets after they come in contact with the coagulation factor. PRP used is considered to be “off-label.”, but showed significant efficacy in alopecia, and hair loss treatment, also to enhance the results of hair transplantation and how to help grow hair faster.

How to prepare myself to the PRP sculp injections?

There are a few things to keep in mind when undergoing PRP treatment for hair loss. First, do not take a shower or wash your hair for at least four hours before the treatment. Second, apply lidocaine cream to the scalp to numb the area before injection. And finally, avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for at least a week before and after the treatment, as they can increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site.

Hair loss treatments combinations

In some cases, PRP hair loss treatment can be combined with other therapies, such as fotona laser or minoxidil, to maximize results. Additionally, we might recommend some multivitamins during treatment to support healthy hair growth.

Post care instructions

After your scalp injection, you should avoid rubbing or touching the injection site. You may apply Ice may to decrease swelling. Keep the injection site clean and dry for 3 hours; you may shower after that time. Do not do activities that increase your heart rate or blood pressure for 24 hours after the injection; this includes strenuous exercise,

Other Treatments for Hair Loss

About half of the men at 50 experience different degrees of hair loss. Therefore, we frequently get questions about hair loss treatments. Alopecia and thin hair might hurt self-esteem special at a young age in men and women. Most clients seek help after trying different home therapies that do not have a scientific background. Moreover, different home therapies and wrong myths might interfere with the treatment results. Thus, it is important to discuss all past and current treatments. The less the treatment is, the better the compliance is.

Minoxidil Treatment

Minoxidil’s mechanism of action is not fully known. It is important to point out that patients might experience worsening hair loss in the first eight weeks of the treatment. Therefore, it is important to discuss this point with the patients. Otherwise, the complaint will be very low.  Like all chronic diseases, Alopecia and hair loss treatment is long-term. The client needs to keep using Rogaine to maintain its effect.

Vitamin and Mineral Supplements

Many patients and dermatologists worldwide believe vitamin and mineral supplements may improve hair loss. According to a study, 60% of dermatologists recommend supplements for at least one type of hair loss and for treating telogen effluvium. Moreover, a study in the United States revealed that 66% of American dermatologists recommend supplements to their patients. We will review some of the most commonly recommended supplements for hair loss, including zinc, iron, and biotin, and address specific supplement-containing products randomly evaluated in controlled trials.
